47 Weeks… That’s how long we have until Christmas. Can you even wrap your brain around that? Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t be able to either…
…but thanks to my dear friend, Meredith, and her brilliant idea, I am officially ONE card closer to being ready for the holidays this year! *high five* What’s the big idea, you ask? Simple… Yep! Festive Fridays have gone from a fun inspirational series on Meredith’s blog to a brand new challenge blog!
So all year long, a few other designers and I will be joining Meredith every other week to share our individual takes on the Festive Friday challenges. Sounds fun, right? I mean come on, who doesn’t need a gentle kick in the pants when it comes to planning ahead for the holidays? I can’t be the only one! So we may as well be on this together, and have some fun while we’re at it!

Oh! Did I forget to mention the best part?… I did. Let me not keep this from you any longer… Feast your eyes on this fabulous group of ladies whom I’ll be joining on the design team:
- Amber Kemp-Gerstel,
- Geri Freeman,
- Melissa Phillips, &
- Meredith MacRitchie (Founder)
- Elena Roussakis (Guest)

I’m sure you have noticed my current obsession with metallics, so it’s no surprise that I had a bunch of fun with this challenge. I began by stamping and heat embossing the sweet jar from Waltzingmouse’s Candy Jar Christmas – Fillers. I used some silver embossing powder, and then I masked the jar off, and stamped in some sweet candies. Then I built the foundation of my card with some papers from the Crate Paper’s Peppermint collection, and then embellished from there.

So what do you say? Will you join us?
Are you in need of a head start on the holidays this year? I promise you’ll be so glad you did when December rolls around. The fun part is, every challenge will be different… sometimes we’ll draw inspiration from a color palette, other times a theme or trigger photo. It will be great to see what everyone comes up with.
If you have the time, pop over to the Festive Friday blog and play.
Xoxo,

You’re AWESOME.
THANK YOU so much for everything, and this amazing post… you make my heart smile!!
I LOVED seeing all the details on your card in this post – there is so much to see and to love… you added so many little silver details, and yet there it doesn’t dominate at all.

This is gorgeous, Sarah! I need some of those silver doilies now. I’ve never seen a good use for them before. Just stunning!
This is beautiful! Love the embossing and all the little details.
