I love Fridays… the sense of accomplishment of making it through the week. The “let my hair down and kick my heels off” feeling that I get when I get home… It’s such a sense of relief…
This week went by way too quickly… but I think I’m getting the hang of things as far as school is concerned. After a couple of weeks of soaking in the newness of being back, the intensity I had at first is beginning to settle, and I’m realizing the vast amount of work that lies ahead of me, if I am to do well during this last 3 semesters of school.
The kids are doing really well settling into their school routines as well. Though for the last couple of days I’ve been lenient on tv time during the week (I usually don’t allow it during school), and bed times have been creeping up later and later. I think it’s just a sign that I’m beginning to get exhausted from it all.
But I *have* to press on.
I can thank my mom for giving me that advice yesterday, right when I needed it. Such a simple solution to what can sometimes seem to be such a daunting burden.
So 3 reasons I’m thankful for Friday:
1. I can say that I made it through the week in one piece.
2. I was given some invaluable advice to help give me some mometum to get through next week.
3. And lastly…

Oh yeah!… It’s football season!!! The Tigers have had some unfortunate off-field distractions for the last couple of weeks, but I’m hoping for a little bit of redemption as they play Oregon tomorrow in Cowboy Stadium.
You can bet the entire Parker family will be watching!
And of course the Labor Day holiday is something to be excited about, too… but I’ll probably just be studying all day, lol.
Ok, I guess I should get to the crafty part, no?

Sarah, you sound like you have a lot on your plate, and I so admire you for the hard work and dedication you’re showing – I can’t imagine having to work, raise my family and be on top of school work – but awesome of you to tackle it head on! And you sound like you’re figuring out the balancing act. 3 Semesters in the big picture is totally doable, right? And how proud and accomplished you’ll feel when you’re done – and the best example you can set for those beautiful kiddos. I am sure it’s tough, but I am also sure that when it’s all over, you won’t want to have done a thing differently. I hope none of that sounded contrite – I mean it to be encouraging! Good luck with school (everything!), and try to take at least some time this weekend to just relax – you’ve earned it!
Sarah – this may be one of the most gorgeous creations you’ve ever made!!! STUNNING!! I love all the trim and that velvet is DIVINE!!! Crafty Hugs!! Meredith
This is so very beautiful Sarah!!! Love the chunkyness of the trim and flower, and the color combo is striking.. my fave combo, second only to teal and red
Sending you a big pat on the back and Atta Girl! for your amazing strength, I can’t believe you can juggle so much and still be so involved in cardmaking/blogging. You Go GIRL!!!!!!!

I visited your site for the first time, and the very first word that came out of my mouth when I saw your design is “wow!” You made such a stunning creation that any eye won’t resist on staring at. The details, texture, layering and color combo – all of them are perfect! =)
AW man! And here I really liked you Sarah, and THEN you go and post about LSU. Girrrl! I thought you had better sense than that.
LOL!
Well, I guess I’ll just have to look past that–as long as there’s no purple and gold cards posted.
But you rocked the red, white, and blue for sure! I love it! Hotty Toddy!
All those details are so lovely! Very pretty layering.
You create layered, beautiful cards like no one else! This awesome card is no exception! LOVE it! HUGS!
