TCM Sept SMP 2

Hey there, sweets!

I have a cute, fun, funky kinda trendy card to share with ya today…. (say that 3 times fast!) in  celebration of the September Release at The Craft’s Meow. This month, TCM is debuting the following two stamp sets…

Happy H’owl’oween
Fun{tache}tic

When I saw these new stamp sets that Nina & Jenny designed I was so intimidated… I thought, “Oh gosh, these are CUTE! As in, TOO cute! As in, how on earth will I be able to really do them justice and make them shine?!”

Yikes!

So I plopped them down on my desk and I sat there…. staring at them a bit… they looked like this:

And as I sat there, chin in hand, I stared a bit more…. and then I tilted my head to the left a little bit…. Then I tilted my head to the right, and said “Ha! Would ya look at that!”

DUH. What owl doesn’t need a mustache?!

And that’s how this cute, fun, funky kinda trendy card was born. Well, the beginnings of it anyway…

Sometimes it just happens like that… I’ve been admiring lots of really pretty, shabby Halloween decor on Pinterest, and even though we don’t usually decorate the house for Halloween, I was really captivated by it all. So I took the same quiet approach to my color palette on my card for today – lots of layers of neutrals with just a little fresh pop of color.

So, I did it! Once again, I faced my fears of the cute stamps, and succeeded! And what’s the lesson of the day?

Don’t box yourself in.

You never know just how much FUN you can have with something that may not initially seem “you.” Truth is, I don’t feel the same every day anyway, lol… So it’s nice to have these awesome stamps here for when I’m feeling in the mood to make something cutesy. *wink*

I hope you enjoy! Have fun shopping!
