Hey y’all!

I’m here today to share another Halloween card with ya… I’m trying to get as many of these in as I can before tomorrow, lol, we’ll see what happens between now and then. ;-)

I used this week’s  Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge for my card…I think this is probably one of my favorite to date… check it out:

I had fun adding all of the little do-dads to my card, and stamping in the fun colors… I love trying new, unexpected color combos for holiday projects. I got to play a bit more with the yummy Matilda collection by Cosmo Cricket, and I’m having so much fun with it! It’s whimsical and playful, and the colors are delish!

Well, I certainly hope you join us for the sketch challenge and upload your card to the sketch challenge blog (linked below). You have until 11:59pm EST, Thursday, Nov. 4th to get your entry in.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Halloween-11

Hey y’all! Happy Friday to ya!

I thought I’d share a project that I made for the Cricut Circle blog a while ago. In case you aren’t familiar with it, the Cricut Circle blog is an exclusive blog hosted by Provo Craft and a wonderful team of designers to share some awesome inspiration through products, demos and giveaways. You will see new cartridges being revealed there, as well as new machines, such as the recent Cricut Cake Mini. When I say that the blog has been a huge hit, I am making an understatement. Here’s a bit about it:

The Cricut Circle is Provo Craft’s affinity program. Provo Craft launched the Cricut Circle on July 1, 2010. The Circle is a place to Inspire, Educate and Create. This program enables crafters to see Provo Craft products first, be involved in specialized focus groups and surveys, receive special pre-launch specials on select Provo Craft products, a private blog and message board for Circletes to foster a special crafting community. Additionally, Cricut Circle members will enjoy 4 exclusive cartridges—one each quarter, instructional webinars and double reward points for purchases on Cricut.com. The Cricut Circle is available for annual or quarterly installments. To purchase a membership to the Cricut Circle visit cricut.com. Annual memberships are $274.99 and quarterly memberships at $79.99.

Once you become a Circle Member, you can find my tutorial for this project here. In the mean time, how about a few close-ups….

Halloween-3

I created my own custom screen using my Cricut Expression and a Bazzill acrylic sheet. Once my image (the spider web) was cut, I adhered it to my bag and sprayed it using Glimmer Mist. The pumpkin and spider are both cut from muslin fabric using my Expression.

Halloween-4

Cosmo Cricket’s Matilda collection is just the sweetest Halloween line out there… I used some of the cute papers and chipboard stars on my projects.

And here’s the coordinating card that I made…

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll see y’all again tomorrow for another Waltzingmouse Sketch project!

*Thinking Inking* – Hero Arts card set

Hey y’all!

How was your weekend? Fabulous, I hope… I have to say, mine was pretty hard to beat! Sunday was my birthday, and I 1) got to sleep in (probably my favorite gift of the weekend!), and 2) was awakened by my beautiful family bringing me breakfast in bed! Sydney was so excited to finally be able to celebrate that she kept spilling all the birthday secrets! Lol! She’s so sweet… I’ll never get tired of seeing my kiddie’s faces on my birthday morning, so eager to celebrate with their Mommy and make me feel like a million bucks!… It’s a priceless memory that I will forever cherish…

Now, on to more crafty things, lol!  Today I’m sharing a card set that I created using a technique that Jennifer taught in week 2 of her Thinking Inking class over at 2 Peas in a Bucket. The technique of this class was creating an inked background by inking and spritzing your acrylic block and applying it to your card stock. You can see Jenn’s video demonstrating it here.

Here’s a close-up:

After I created my inked background, I stamped one of my favorite Hero Arts stamps, the Leaf Flourish and then added a simple sentiment from All Occasion Messages. The last thing I did was to add a border from Flower Borders and a touch of stitching and pearls to tie it all together. I think the end result is pretty neat, I’ll definitely be trying this out again.

Thanks again for stopping by, y’all!

Caring-Hearts-Blog-Hop

Hey y’all!

I’m here this morning to show my support of an awesome cause that is being highlighted with this Caring Hearts Blog Hop. Vera Yates and her sweet mother came up with the neat idea to bless the elderly who live in nursing homes and care centers with Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. As soon as I learned of this wonderful idea, I jumped right on it. I’m excited, too, because one of the care facilities being included in this drive is the Baton Rouge Health Care Center! Yep, that’s right here in my home town… So I’m super excited to get the word out so that we can all be a blessing to someone who may need nothing more than a smile to get them through their day. :)

Be sure to comment, there are prizes to win and inspiration to be gained while hopping along, so I won’t hold you any longer…

Check out the rest of the hop, and if you didn’t start from the beginning, click here.

Next up… Savitri Wilder! (Something tells me she will have something amazing to share!)
