Hey y’all!

Welcome to the Embellish Magazine Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be playing along with this hop! We are celebrating the premiere issue of the amazing ezine founded by Ashley and her hubby Mac – the dynamic duo! Lol! It’s been such a thrill to be a part of this awesome new publication with my column Trendy Perspective, and to be able to design with the amazing team of designers in our Embellish Magazine Color Challenges.

We each created a project for this hop using the same requirements of the premiere issue of Embellish… using: red, brown, kraft, turquoise and embellishing with twine. These colors make me so happy! And who doesn’t love twine? I decided to create something a bit shabby, but a bit CAS too. Fun, right? You can see endless projects and loads of inspiration in the issue, which is easily downloadable here.

If you haven’t already, be sure to start the blog hop off at the Embellish Magazine Blog where you can find all the rules of the hop. There you will also find a whole host of prizes available to those who participate by commenting, so stop by each blog to increase your chances! There will be 10 winners! I hope you will celebrate with us!

Prize contest open until Monday 5pm EST.  Winners will be announced Tuesday, June 1.

Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing one of the scrap projects I’ve been working on lately. I can’t seem to get enough of my The Girls’ Paperie goodies, so I pulled out some old portraits of my sweet Sydney from when she was just 9 months old, and got to scrappin’.

I’ve also been having lots of fun with tulle lately. It adds such a fun touch of soft texture that doesn’t interrupt the flow of your layout, but keeps the eye interested. I casually stitched a layer of the tulle to the base of my layout, and I also die cut several layers of it to make the sweet flower flanked by that gorgeous vintage button, also from The Girls’ Paperie.

I tried to capture the soft mood of the photo in my layout.  Sydney’s smile is such a direct reflection of her loving, gentle and caring nature, and I hope my page displays it well. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
