Good morning y’all!!!
Ok… I’ll just jump right in. 
Guess who is getting 2 cards published in the December 2009 issue of CARDS Magazine ???? Yup! Me!!!! I will have 2 of my very own creations published… on paper… in real life magazines… on racks & shelves… in real life stores (barring any extremely unfortunate events between now and the publication date)!!! Ok, pardon the lack of lady-like behavior… But seriously, this is my first time being published, and I can hardly contain myself!!!
And you know what makes it even more thrilling?! This was my first time EVER submitting anything!!!! Hello! Ok… let me back up to the beginning.
I have been wanting to have my work published for quite some time now, (umm… who wouldn’t?!), but I’ve never taken the time to gather the right information, deadlines, etc., and just DO it…. Until a couple of nights ago, that is. I was submitting my card for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge last week here, when “something” told me to click on over to another submitter’s blog (Tiffany), here. Well, I was loving her work, so I clicked around a bit and noticed that she did a post reminding everyone of some upcoming publication calls. Then I realized that the deadline was that very night! (Which was perfect b/c if you’ve been paying attention, I am a huge procrastinator…last minute is right up my alley!)
So, I sent in my submissions and less than 24 hours later, I get 2 wonderful, exciting, make you jump in the air, emails requesting my cards for the December 2009 issue of CARDS! The rest is history! I’m so pumped right now y’all! I can’t wait to see the mag IRL!
Wanna know the cherry on top? The card that I made for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge, that led me to Tiffany’s blog, which led me to the submission, was chosen as one of the 2S4Y Fab 5 for the week!
Needless to say, I’ve had a big cheesey smile plastered on my face for the last couple of days. 
Don’t want to wake up from this dream!
BIG SHOUT OF OF THANKS TO TIFFANY for the reminder post on your blog!!!! Seriously, if it wasn’t for your post, I would not have submitted that night, and would not be sitting here sharing this story right now. *tight hugs!*
Ok… so chat with me… have you ever been published? Did you flip out on your first time? Or did you play it cool like, “Yea… I knew I had it in me.” Lol! Let me know! So glad I have you folks to share and squeal with!

LOL, I totally acted like this when I got the email that I was going to be published! I sent in something on a whim, never tried before, and was *shocked* when I received an email letting me know I was going to be published (mine’ll be in the August Cards). I keep telling myself I want to send in more stuff, but then I get side tracked and forget.

Wow, congrats. So so cool!!! My first pub was Dec. of last year and I did what you did. Clicked here and there and thought: Oh let me try. Weeks later I got an email and I got published. So fun!!
Now I’m back to being lazy again he he… I got published, that was my goal, and it’s not a challenge anymore. Maybe I’ll submit again sometimes this year… if I remember

Unfortunately we don’t get that GORGEOUS Cards Mag here in Australia, so be sure to post a pic on your blog when you get your copy… that way I can do a HUGE happy dance and cheer for you all the way over here too.
